Tugging and Tangling Multicultural Curricular Ideologies
This introductory performance was designed collaboratively inspired by Au, Brown, & Calderón (2016) Reclaiming the Multicultural Roots of U.S. Curriculum. The performance relied on participation from our class. My partners and I took one chapter of the book, searched for arguments, points on curricula, and broader meanings. We prepared a script of sorts. Two volunteers read the scripts while tugging or tangling the threads. Then classmates were invited to add their own messages into the curricular conversation in the forms of public art.
