RiverArtsFest Special Resources Fund grant recipient totaling $500 to bring local artist Kenneth Wayne Alexander, II. into classroom. 100 fifth grade students made Surrealist, NOVI Arts inspired art and wrote about personal symbolism.

The student’s artwork featured first in the slide show was awarded Best in Show at the University of Memphis exhibition “Tolerance through Art Education.”

Shelby County School District Memphis Advantage program partnership with the Dixon Gallery and Gardens. Included two field trips, visitor led discussions, collaborative artwork at the museum, an in-classroom artworks addressing school issues.
